Why is there a crisis over Israel’s judicial reforms?

Over 100,000 Israelis gathered in Tel Aviv to protest the government’s plan to overhaul the judicial system and weaken the Supreme Court. Barak Ravid of Axios wrote that many fear the heightened tensions over the plan “could tear Israeli society apart.” Each side insists that if the other side has its way, it will mean the end of Israeli democracy. There has been so much noise over these judicial reforms! So, let’s take a step back and look at the bigger picture. I want to share three important messages we could ALL learn.
