“Through darkness comes light.” Yesterday we paused to remember the victims of the Holocaust. Today we want to recognize a moment of light for this generation.
Survivors are a particularly vulnerable population due to their age. The first documented victim of the pandemic in Israel was Aryeh Even, an 88-year-old Holocaust survivor. Many survivors live in poverty, it’s estimated some 40% of Holocaust survivors in New York City live below the poverty line. (For more information on how you can help click here.)
It’s been a tough year for many, but there is reason to feel joy. As the vaccine rolls out, many survivors are being vaccinated and family and friends are turning to social media to celebrate.
