Close to a year after Hezbollah began launching drone and rocket attacks against northern Israel, the IDF launched a large-scale operation to restore security in the area Monday.
Lebanese Foreign Minister Abdallah Bou Habib warned that the country was bracing for a major retaliation by Hezbollah after the attack, stressing “this escalates this war.”
Hezbollah Secretary-General Hassan Nasrallah claimed that his movement successfully targeted a military intelligence base in Glilot, just north of Tel Aviv.
The IDF eliminated Hezbollah’s top military commander, Fuad Shukr, in an airstrike on Beirut Tuesday, in response to the recent rocket attack on Majdal Shams that killed 12 children.
At least 12 children were killed after Hezbollah fired a rocket at a soccer field in the Druze town of Majdal Shams Saturday, the deadliest single attack on Israel since Oct. 7.
